Top - How long will it take me to study for a CLEP* exam using the SpeedyPrep system?
The time required to study for a CLEP exam depends on each student’s capabilities, dedication, and motivation as well as the specific subject he or she is studying. Students have been able to adequately prepare for and pass a CLEP exam in as little as two days on some of the easier subjects.

Trying to memorize a textbook or study guide is a daunting task! Top - Freshman College Composition Replaced by College Composition Modular
As of July 1, 2010, the CLEP Freshman College Composition exam has been retired by the College Board and will no longer be available for students to take. It has been replaced by another test, CLEP College Composition Modular. Because of this change by the College Board, SpeedyPrep is discontinuing its Freshman College Composition study guide. However, SpeedyPrep has launched a College Composition Modular study guide for the new exam. You can find out more about College Composition Modular at the College Board website.

Traditional methods provide you, the student, with written subject material to read, learn, and memorize. Few students can read about a subject and learn all they need to know to pass a CLEP exam. In addition, taking practice tests can be helpful, but only if the student has already mastered the subject. Practice CLEP tests simply ask the student mock questions and do not prepare the student with all the information he or she needs to know. SpeedyPrep’s question-based system is different! We design each SpeedyPrep course to correlate with the CLEP exam under the same name. For example, you can use our Introductory Psychology preparatory course to prepare for the Introductory Psychology CLEP exam. We do not recommend that you use our SpeedyPrep courses to prepare for any CLEP exam other than the one with the correlating name. For example, our Natural Sciences study course will NOT prepare you for the Biology or Chemistry CLEP exams; it is only intended to prepare you for the Natural Sciences CLEP exam.

With a SpeedyPrep subscription students have access to all of SpeedyPrep's study guides. There is no limit to how many you can study. We do however recommend that students only study a few courses at a time in order to help with concentration.

However, these scores are merely the ACE recommended passing scores and each learning institution accepting CLEP credits determines the minimum score required to grant credits. Most colleges and universities have required scores a student must achieve in order to earn CLEP credits. If a student meets these minimum scores, credit will be awarded. The number of credits you will be able to apply to your degree will vary depending on your college or university policy. There are actually a few accredited colleges and universities that will allow you to obtain a four-year degree by testing out of all the required subjects. Check with your college or university’s general catalog or CLEP policy for more specific information. Each examination costs $77. Please be aware that most colleges and/or testing centers charge a nonrefundable administration fee. Although the College Board recommends that testing centers charge a $15 administration fee, each center may charge a different amount. Please contact the specific testing center to find out their administration fee. Also, know that the administration fee should be sent directly to the testing center, not to the College Board.
