American Literature

The American Literature CLEP Test covers poetry and prose written in the US from colonial to present time. It tests knowledge of the content of the literary works as well as the history and backgrounds of the authors.

 

Analyzing and Interpreting Literature

The Analyzing and Interpreting Literature CLEP test requires the student to read and analyze different pieces of literary work provided during the test. It will not test the student regarding specific works but will ensure that they are able to identify metaphors, themes, and other stylistic devices.

 

College Algebra

The College Algebra CLEP test covers routine and straightforward algebraic problems as well as nonroutine problems dealing with concepts and application of skills. A non-graphing calculator is permitted during the College Algebra test.

 

Information Systems and Computer Applications

The Information Systems and Computer Applications CLEP test requires a basic understanding of terminology and concepts associated with information systems. It will not require any hardware or language specific knowledge but does assume a basic knowledge of mathematics and arithmetic.

 

Principles of Management

The Principles of Management CLEP test requires basic knowledge of human resources as well as both operational and functional aspects of management. Students should have a good understanding of business terminology as well as the application of common business and management procedures.

 

History of the United States I: Early Colonization to 1877

The History of the United States I: Early Colonization to 1877 CLEP test covers the time period from early European colonization to the end of Reconstruction. Most questions will be based on the period between 1790-1877 with an emphasis on the English colonies.
